An Ethernet-based modem can be directly connected to the Ethernet port on the Edge and doesn’t need validation.

Important Note: VMware does not control wireless carrier firmware updates, therefore compatibility of new modem firmware to VMware SD-WAN OS is not guaranteed. Modem firmware updates should be controlled by the customer. VMware recommends testing a firmware update on a single site before pushing across entire network.

  1. On Hotspot/MiFi modems you must disable Wi-Fi and set the USB port to “auto-connect” before connecting to VeloCloud Edge.
  2. Need to configure to auto-connect except when roaming.
